Printed manuals are still relevant!
Are you new to your Jeepster/Commando or trying to get it going or keep it on the road? Here are the two best manuals to get to help out through this process. These two will give you most of the answers you are asking, like, "where does this go," or "how does this bolt on," or "what part numbers should I refence when buying from Partsdude4x4?"
#1 The Parts List Manual. This is the manual Jeep gave the dealers to remove and replace parts and assemblies. You will find pictures of these diagrams all throughout our website. It shows every single assembly, how it fits together and on the opposite side of the page, parts descriptions and part numbers. Our website uses these parts number throughout! I use my copy about 50 times per day; it is my quick reference to all parts
#2 The Service Manual. This handy manual gives written descriptions on how to take apart, test and replace parts throughout your Jeep. This is the manual that will have fluid capacities, torque values and a bunch of other reference materials that make good reading. We offer an assortment of models, years, etc., so you'll want to be sure you are ordering the right manual for your specific ride.
I'm sure for some of the younger Jeeping crowd having printed manuals might seem outdated or unnecessary when you can Google it. But if you've ever been under your Jeep and have a question or need a quick reference, grabbing a manual and paging it through it with your grubby hands is much easier than trying to do a search on your phone. I've also seen so much false information online that I personally rely on the original builders to answser my questions. After all these years, I still find the manuals an invaluable resource. They will help you be a better mechanic and a better driver! Happy reading!
